Under-17s sign for First Team Squad!

We’re delighted to tell you that Sam Taylor and Sam Muskett have signed for our first-team, with Sam Taylor taking his place on the bench in last Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle Town.

Both players have represented Mossley Juniors under-17s team this season and had been invited to first-team training by David Fish as part of the club’s vision to create a clear pathway for younger, local players to represent Mossley AFC.

On confirming their signings, David Fish told us “I’ve watched the under 17s a couple of times this season and had several of them train with us over the past couple of weeks. All of the lads have done well and whilst it’s taken them time to adjust to the pace, both Sams have shown confidence to get on the ball and they are technically good players.

“Given the injuries in the squad it’s a great opportunity for them to be more involved with the first team and I’m confident that if called on they’ll acquit themselves well.

This is part of a longer term plan to provide a pathway to first team football.”
