Butterworth signs for 2022-23 season!

We’re delighted to announce that Jordan Butterworth has signed a contract to stay at Emmaus Mossley Seel Park next season.

Jordan joined from Chadderton before the 2020-21 season and has fast become a fan-favourite, featuring 51 times for the Lilywhites, scoring 5 goals in the process.

On securing the midfielder for next season, manager David Fish told us, “Jordan has played for me since he was 18 and came to Chadderton from Curzon Ashton. He immediately made an impact and has improved every season since.

“Last season was very much one of transition for him as he adapted to the step-up. He played in his preferred position in the middle but also covered at right back and those games massively helped his development. He came back to pre-season looking bigger and stronger and has become an important player in our midfield; so much so he has played in every game this season.

“He is a good lad, adaptable – we’ve asked him to take on at least three different roles this season, and works hard on whatever we ask of him. He’s just turned 23 and there’s plenty more to come from him. Now he’s established himself at this level I’m looking for him to bring more leadership to his game and for him to be more vocal. If he responds to that challenge in the way he has every other challenge we’ve set him he’s guaranteed to become a very good player at this level and help deliver us success.”
