Transfer News: Freddie Sass joins Southport

Following an approach and negotiations, we have agreed a deal with National League North club Southport for the permanent transfer of Freddie Sass to Haig Avenue.

Freddie (21) joined us from Tadcaster Albion in December 2021 and quickly made the left back spot his own. He produced a number of outstanding appearances that saw scouts flocking to Seel Park on a regular basis.

Freddie went on to make 41 appearances in a Lilywhites shirt, scoring 3 goals.

On the move, Manager David Fish said “Freddie has everything you need to become successful in the game; he’s a good size, athletic, talented and has a great attitude.

“Since joining us, he’s been focussed on developing, constantly seeks feedback and often stays after training to work on things.

“He’s been a pleasure to manage and I truly believe this to be the next step on his journey to becoming a professional footballer. I wish him nothing but the best and he’ll be welcome back at Seel Park anytime.”
