Shepherd signs contract with the Lilywhites!

We’re delighted to announce that Will Shepherd has put pen to paper and signed a contract to stay at Seel Park to the end of the season.

The youngster spent 8 years at the Rochdale AFC academy, before signing scholarship forms for Salford City, where he captained the youth team to the Alliance League Championship. He went on to sign professional terms at the Peninsula Stadium, making his senior debut in September 2019 against Manchester United before injuries and the pandemic lead to him dropping into non-league football with Warrington Town.

Will has been in terrific form this season; fighting off competition and cementing his place as David Fish’s first-choice right-back this season.

Manager David Fish told us, “Will is an excellent footballer; he reads the game, is a great passer of the ball, fit, and defends well. In a season where he’s adapted to full back he’s kept some of the best wingers quiet.

“The contract is a reward for his hard work and performances, and also a sign of our desire to keep Will with us beyond the end of the current campaign.”
