Phil McGrath appointed Lilywhites assistant manager

We’re delighted to bring you the news that Phil McGrath has been appointed as Mossley AFC assistant manager!

Phil joined the Club from Chadderton FC in June 2023 as a first-team coach and has excelled in his role since.

Phil started his footballing career in Northern Ireland before moving to Oldham Athletic as a youngster. However, injuries hampered his opportunities and he quickly moved into coaching. Spells coaching in the academies at Oldham Athletic and Stockport County followed before he made the move to Chadderton.

On appointing Phil as his assistant manager, Alex Craddock told us, “Appointing Phil as assistant manager was an easy decision and I am over the moon he accepted the offer.

“He has a superb relationship with the existing players, which is a huge positive. His knowledge of the game and contacts in and around the academy game in the North-West is vital for us too.

“Phil is a top coach and has expressed his desire to be more involved in the management side of the game and I’m delighted he’s chosen Mossley to start that part of his career. I’m really looking forward to continuing to work with Phil and I know he’ll be a big part of what we do next season.”
