Lilywhites Appoint David Fish As New Manager
We’re thrilled to announce the appointment of David Fish as our new Manager.
Originally from Stalybridge, UEFA B qualified David joins us from Chadderton in the North West Counties League.
As a player he appeared in the youth team at Manchester United before joining Stockport County. He was a member of the 2001 treble winning team at Stalybridge Celtic before spells with Hyde United and Curzon Ashton.
He moved into management at Lancashire Amateur League side Rochdale St Clements where he met Lee Ashworth who we’re delighted to say also joins us as our new Assistant Manager.
On David’s appointment, Vice-Chair Callum Irving said “We’ve taken our time recruiting our new manager. We had some exceptional candidates with different backgrounds and in David we feel we’ve found the perfect fit for where we are as a club and the journey that we’re on.
“His leadership skills speak for themselves. We were blown away by his authenticity and attention to detail during the recruitment process and at interview.
“Both David and Lee understand and buy into our whole club strategy and what we want to achieve. As a board of Directors we’re very excited to be working together and we can’t wait for supporters to meet them.”
We’d like to thank our friends at Chadderton and look forward to seeing them in pre-season.
We’ll bring you further reaction to this exciting new chapter in our history including interviews with both David and Lee in the coming days.
Welcome to Seel Park, David and Lee!
