Kai Payne joins Lilywhites on loan!

We’re delighted to announce the signing of highly-rated Wigan Athletic midfielder Kai Payne who joins us on a month’s loan.

Kai, 18, started his footballing career in the youth setup at Liverpool FC before moving to Wigan Athletic aged 13.

Central Midfielder Kai signed a professional contract with the Latics last year and is available for selection for this weekend’s clash at Prescot Cables.

On securing Kai’s loan move, Manager David Fish told us, “We’ve needed new faces for a couple of weeks and when Wigan made me aware Kai was available for loan I was keen to bring him in.

“He captains their u-18s and is an athletic, confident box to box player who can also play cente back. He trained with us this evening and he looked right at home, very comfortable on the ball, a good passing range and positional sense. He’ll provide a different option for us and I’m looking forward to him getting started.”
