Iwobi stays for the season!

We’re delighted to let you know that striker Justin Iwobi will be staying with us on loan for the rest of the season, after FC Halifax Town agreed to extend his stay at TotalRope Solutions Seel Park!

Oldham-based Justin, spent the early part of his career at Stoke City, making appearances in the U-18s Premier League and the FA Youth Cup for ‘the Potters’; he then moved to ‘the Shaymen’ in September last year.

Justin (19) has featured for the Lilywhites in the last 5 games, particularly impressing with a stand-out performance against Hanley Town where he played a pivotal part in the opening goal and was a constant threat throughout.

On extending his loan-stay, manager David Fish told us, “With Oumar and Eden leaving and Keogh and Reece picking up injuries, it was important to bring another striker in.

“Justin looked comfortable from his first session with us. He’s a big presence and occupies centre-halves. He works hard and has a good touch; he has all the tools to be a very good centre-forward and just needs to learn how to use them. We’ve already seen in his time with us that he’s got better with each game, he listens and works hard to improve so that will only continue.

“He will be a big part of what we achieve in the rest of the season and I’m looking forward to him progressing more.”
