We’re now a Disability Confident Committed organisation!
We’re delighted to announce we’ve been accredited as a Disability Confident Committed
Level 1 organisation with the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP).
Disability Confident is a national accreditation which demonstrates we recognise the value
and input disabled people bring to all areas within our club and the local community. Being
Disability Confident is an opportunity for us to lead the way in our local community and
highlights our commitment to both working with and supporting people with all forms of
disability.
On this exciting step, Director Steve Crompton said “Having grown up with disability due to
my mum having Multiple Sclerosis, it’s a subject very close to my heart. This is a very proud
day for the club.
“We’re the first football club in Tameside to attain the accreditation and we’re in esteemed
company alongside the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool who also
hold accreditation. It will provide the club with opportunities to work with and possibly play
against their sides through liaison with the DWP, who will fully support our journey.”
