Lilywhites elect new chair and vice-chair
Following a board meeting last week, we are delighted to confirm that the Board of Directors voted to elect Stephen Porter as the new Chair, and James Bull as new Vice-Chair of the club.
Stephen Porter, who had been acting-Chair following the departures of both Ray Moreland and Callum Irving, is no stranger to fans at Seel Park; Mossley-born Stephen has followed the Lilywhites his entire life, and was in the crowd at Wembley on the Lilywhite’s most famous day in 1980.
On being elected as Chair Stephen said, “If you’d told me as a 9 year-old when I stood on the Seel Park terraces cheering on my heroes that one day I’d have the opportunity to be Chair of Mossley AFC, I’d have thought you had lost you mind. But here I am, Mossley born and bred, and now in that post. I feel extremely humbled and honoured.
“There is obviously some uncertainty ahead but I promise I’ll always try and do the right thing for the club. We have a perfect mix of youth and experience on our Board of Directors and together we are determined to give the town a club to be proud of.”
As well as electing Stephen Porter as Chair, the Board of Directors voted to elect James Bull as Vice-Chair. On being elected to the role James said, “I am delighted to accept the new role and to support Steve in his role as Chair as well as continuing to work hard with all directors to support the club.
“It has been an unusual way to start the season but it has been fantastic to get football back on at Seel Park in front our brilliant and loyal supporters.”
Congratulations on your new roles, Stephen and James!
